  • Does getting a tattoo hurt?
Sensations vary from person to person, but getting a tattoo can cause some discomfort. Most people describe it as a tolerable, scratching or stinging sensation. Our artists are experienced and will work with you to ensure your comfort throughout the process.
  • How long does it take for a tattoo to heal?
The healing process typically takes about 2 to 4 weeks. During this time, it's important to follow the aftercare instructions provided by your artist to promote proper healing and avoid complications.
  • What are your aftercare instructions?
Tattoo Aftercare Instructions: Congratulations on your new tattoo! Proper aftercare is crucial for the healing process and to ensure your tattoo looks its best. Here are some guidelines to follow, minimizing the use of Aquaphor as an ointment: Leave the bandage on for a few hours: Your tattoo artist may cover your tattoo with a sterile bandage or wrap. Leave it on for the recommended time (usually a few hours) to protect the area from dirt and bacteria. Gently clean your tattoo: After removing the bandage, wash your tattoo gently with lukewarm water and mild fragrance-free soap. Use your clean hands and avoid using a cloth or sponge. Pat dry with a clean paper towel or let it air dry. Apply a thin layer of ointment (Aquaphor) Apply a thin layer of the ointment to your tattoo, ensuring it's not too thick or greasy. Avoid excessive ointment application: Use the ointment sparingly. Applying too much can suffocate the tattoo and impede the healing process. Remember, a little goes a long way. Moisturize with fragrance-free lotion: After the initial ointment phase (usually around 5-6 days), transition to using a fragrance-free, mild lotion to keep your tattoo moisturized. Apply a thin layer whenever your tattoo feels dry or tight. Avoid picking or scratching: It's essential to resist the temptation to pick at scabs or scratch your healing tattoo. Let them naturally fall off to prevent scarring or color loss. Protect from excessive sun exposure: Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight, as it can fade the colors and damage the healing skin. If you must be in the sun, cover your tattoo or use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF. Avoid swimming or soaking: Refrain from swimming in pools, hot tubs, or natural bodies of water until your tattoo is fully healed. Prolonged exposure to water can lead to infection or fading. Wear loose, breathable clothing: Choose loose-fitting clothing made from breathable fabrics to prevent unnecessary friction and irritation on your healing tattoo. Follow your artist's advice: Every tattoo and individual healing process is unique. Your tattoo artist may provide specific instructions or recommendations based on their experience. Follow their advice carefully to ensure optimal healing. Remember, if you have any concerns or questions during the healing process, don't hesitate to reach out to your tattoo artist or consult a healthcare professional.
